Garden Art
by Patty Fitts
I have enjoyed painting landscapes and I have loved working in our garden at home to make it a place of beauty and peace. Starting in the back yard years ago, the garden has evolved, as most do, over the years, eventually moving to the front yard. Much has changed with the passing of time and we now have ten beautiful grandchildren. Other things have happened (including me having breast cancer four years ago) so that I haven't seemed to be able to get my paints out. However, through modern technology and a combination of the gifts God has given me, I have discovered a new art form. I consider the whole process art. I plant the seed, nourish the garden, arrange the colorful pots, take pictures and then "paint" them on my computer with apps. I am having so much fun! I scattered flower seeds this years and let God surprise me with the outcome. Every day is Christmas morning as I rush out to see what has happened in the garden. My motive is to give our grandchildren a magical place to remember of their childhood at "Nana" and "Papa John's" house and to give our neighbors and passersby a little piece of God's beauty. Many stop and tell me they drive by our house with this purpose—to see the garden. I would like this website to brighten your day.
